Last Saturday, Autism Home Support Services in Colorado had a great event at the We Rock the Spectrum Gym in Littleton for Autism Awareness Month. Braving the snow (we got 6 inches!), families from Castle Rock, Parker, Aurora, Lakewood, and Wheat Ridge came to the gym and had a ton of fun! It was wonderful to see all the kids interact and to have our amazing families meet each other.
As Family Support Coordinator I don’t get to see the kids as often as our BCBAs, and I was amazed at how much progress they have made since I last saw them! One little boy’s communication had greatly increased. He was making eye contact and answered all my questions appropriately. There was also a little girl who used to be able to handle only 15 minutes outside of her home before having a sensory overload. She stayed an entire HOUR at the gym playing and having fun! Thank you to all of our families, BCBAs and CTMs who attended the event! And a very special thank you to We Rock the Spectrum for making this possible for our kiddos and their families — what a fantastic day!

Don’t just take our word for it! We got this from the mom of one of our families:
“Just wanted you to see how much joy you guys brought to Spencer and Emmett on Saturday (and Emmett has asked to go to the gym about 800 times since we left). 🙂 Thanks for hosting such an awesome event for the kiddos!”
